When Did The Law of Attraction Start? by John Peace


The Law of Attraction started with the creation of the universe and the creation of thought.

The challenging question is, when did mankind first become aware of this law?

The answer to that is unknown, although there is some evidence to suggest that people knew about universal law at least 6000 or 7000 years ago.

Research on the history of the law of attraction provides us with many inspirational quotes, which gives us plenty of evidence that the laws were truly understood.

When studying the history of the Law of Attraction we see that Buddha said,

'All that we are is the result of what we have thought.'

A powerful statement, not only do we create the material things in our lives by what we think, we also create ourselves.

Further evidence in the history of the Law of Attraction can be found in the King James version of the Bible. We see that Job may not have fully understood the workings of attraction, however like many people today he suffered the consequences of the law by not using it for his good.

In Job 3: 25, it reads,

'For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.'

How many of us are creating what we do not desire in life? How many of us are setting ourselves up as victims because we do not understand or are not consciously using the law of attraction?

Without knowing when the phrase Attraction was first coined, it is difficult to document the first writings. Law of attraction awareness was certainly awakened in the last century or so, with many authors and scientists writing, perhaps controversially, at the turn of the last century.

Many of these books are now in the public domain and are available in eBook format from the Law-of-Attraction-Guide library.

James Allen is best known work As a Man Thinketh, which is one of the most powerful law of attraction books written.

The forward states,

'to stimulate men and women to the discovery and perception of the truth that - they themselves are makers of themselves by virtue of the thoughts which they choose and encourage; that mind is the master-weaver, both of the inner garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance, and that, as they may have hitherto woven in ignorance and pain they may now weave in enlightenment and happiness.'

As you can see the style of writing is rather dated and needs to be read carefully.

Wallace Wattles studied the various religious beliefs and philosophies of the world including those of Descartes, Spinoza, Leibnitz, Schopenhauer, Hegel, Swedenborg, Emerson, and others.

He translated those studies into several books including The Science of Getting Rich. In this book he builds upon the following statement,

'There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. I can form things in my thought, and by impressing my thoughts upon formless substance, can cause the thing I think about to be created.'

In the past 30 years, this book has been used as the basis to teach many people about the law of attraction, and was the inspiration for the movie, The Secret.

Charles Haanel was a noted American author and businessman who belonged to the American Scientific League, The Author's League of America, The American Society of Psychical Research, the St. Louis Humane Society and the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce.

Haanel wrote several books that were published in St. Louis by Psychology Publishing and by his Master Key Institute in New York.

Mr. Haanel put into books the ideas and methods he used to gain his success. Besides the Master Key System, which he wrote in 1912, he also wrote Mental Chemistry and The New Psychology.

By 1933 The Master Key System had sold over 200,000 copies and then seemingly disappeared.

Studying the history of the law of attraction, The Master Key System has proved to be one of the finest studies in self-improvement and higher consciousness ever written. Covering everything from attracting abundance and prosperity, to greater health and happiness. This system teaches the principles and practise of the laws of cause and effect.

One of the most inspirational quotations written in the introduction of the book is,

'Abundance, therefore, depends upon recognition of the laws of Abundance, and the fact that Mind is not only the creator, but the only creator of all there is.'

Again the writing style requires careful reading, but is well worth it.

Napolean Hill is considered to have influenced more people into success than any other person in history. He has been perhaps the most influential man in the area of personal success development.

Napoleon Hill achieved great success as an attorney and journalist. His early career as a reporter helped finance his way through law school. He was given an assignment to write a series of success stories of famous men, and his big break came when he was asked to interview steel-magnate Andrew Carnegie.

Mr. Carnegie commissioned Hill to interview over 500 millionaires to find a success formula that could be used by the average person. These included Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Henry Ford, Elmer Gates, Charles M. It took Hill over 20 years to produce his book, a classic in the Personal Development field called Think and Grow Rich. This book has sold over 7 million copies and has helped thousands achieve success. The secret to success is very simple but you'll have to read the book to find out what it is!

The first copy of Think and Grow rich was sold in 1937. Eleven years later, in February 1948, Coronet magazine polled 300 successful young men and women, asking, 'What books had most influenced their lives and contributed to their success?' Florence Scovel is one of the first metaphysics teachers of this past century. In her book The Game of Life and How to Play It, she states;

'Most people consider life a battle, but it is not a battle, it is a game. It is a game, however, which cannot be played successfully without the knowledge of spiritual law, and the Old and the New Testaments give the rules of the game with wonderful clearness.'

Jesus Christ taught that it was a great game of Giving and Receiving. 'Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap'

This means that whatever man sends out in word or deed, will return to him; what he gives, he will receive. If he gives hate, he will receive hate; if he gives love, he will receive love; if he gives criticism, he will receive criticism; if he lies he will be lied to; if he cheats he will be cheated.

Florence is also quoted as saying -

'Infinite spirit opens the way for my great abundance. I am an irresistible magnet for all that belongs to me by divine right. My supply is endless, inexhaustible and immediate and comes to me under grace in perfect ways.'

It is my belief, that at our very core, people want to have a peaceful and harmonious world. I also believe that as people become aware of the Law of Attraction, they will realize that they can influence the world by their belief and will be an agent for positive change for the future. It is important that more and more people become aware of and use the law of attraction daily to create tremendous lives for themselves and others.

The Law of Attraction, Goal Setting and Magic by Dimitri Papalexiou


Ever since the movie & book 'The Secret', the Law of Attraction has gone from a little known tool used by just a few, to a term known by millions of people around the world. There are thousands of web-sites and dozens of Gurus all proclaiming there knowledge of this ancient law.
So, what do the law of attraction, goal setting and magick have to do with each other, what are the common denominators? Simple, the law of attraction states that what you focus on with desire, and hold in your mind as being true, will eventually come about. All of these terms are just systems of acquiring something, that you desire. It can be material, emotional or mental.
Why do some people use magic to achieve their goals? Why all the symbols and rituals? If you have any knowledge of goal setting or the law of attraction, you probably use one or more of the following methods;
  •  meditation
  •  visualization
  •  affirmations
  •  motivational music or surroundings
  •  pictures and vision boards
  •  writing out your goals
  •  good luck charm or lucky item
  •  asking for help from God or the Universe
It has been documented many times that using more of your senses (i.e. sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch etc) when goal setting & visualizing will increase your chances of obtaining your desires and anchor your goals strongly into your unconscious mind.
Seriously, a goal that is focused on regularly using positive emotion, most of your senses and firm belief in a positive outcome, will be much more likely to succeed than a few mumbled, half-hearted words.
Using magic  especially ritual magic to achieve your goals is a powerful tool. No belief in actual witchcraft is required. You can send your requests to any powers or source that you feel right about, gods, angels or just the infinite universe. Oddly enough, you can practice magic and be from almost any religion or even an atheist.
With ritual magic you can use costumes, props, symbols, music, incense, wine or food, images and of course, the spell or rite itself. The spell uses words or rhyme to set your goal. Using magic like this allows you to cover all the senses and really put yourself in a powerful place to ask for and accept your desires.
Back to the law of attraction and goal setting. If you're uncomfortable with anything at all to do with magic or spells it doesn't matter, you can still ad a little ritual to your goal setting and vastly increase the chances or receiving your desires and dreams. Just a few minor additions will turbo charge your attraction ability. Try some of the following;
  •  perform your visualization at the same time every day (this sets a routine for your mind)
  •  use affirmations written in present tense, speak & repeat them aloud if you can
  •  play positive music that lifts you up
  •  use a vision board or something else that has images cut-out and pasted of the things you desire
  •  write out your goals using positive emotions and make them believable
  •  carry a good luck charm of any kind that represents your current desire, focus on it during the day to remind yourself of your goal
  •  try to avoid negative thoughts and people
  •  re-affirm your goal everyday for as long as it takes to achieve it
Whether you use magic or traditional goal setting techniques, the more of yourself that you put into it, the quicker you will realize your dreams. Never rubbish anyone's method of using the law of attraction. Negativity of this kind will rob you of your own success and block your ability to attract. Use what works for you and drop what doesn't. Don't be afraid to try new techniques to boost your efforts.
The more you practice, the better you will get and the faster your results will come. At first you may think that nothing is happening, but believe me, as soon as you begin to focus on a goal you have already begun to attract it. What stops the process from finishing for most people is; doubt, negativity and impatience. Give it a chance and you will be rewarded!!!

Male Menopause - Does Andropause Really Exist

There are currently numerous debates in the medical community on whether menopause really exists in men.
Menopause in women is defined as the time when the menstrual periods cease. Based on this, men cannot have menopause. But, as the doctors have argued, they can undergo andropause which is now known as the male equivalent of menopause in women. Males who have andropause manifest the same symptoms as those women with menopause.

Male menopause (andropause) is used to refer to the condition in which men experience a reduction in their hormone levels. But unlike the case of women whose hormone levels drop dramatically, male menopause occurs with a gradual fall in hormone testosterone. Medical reports show that many men in their 70's have almost the same testosterone levels as those in their 20's.
Men with menopause manifest symptoms that include irritability, sweating, memory problems, concentration difficulties, and hot flushing. Other common complaints of men with menopause consist of low sex drive, hair loss, fatigue, generalized pains, and body shape changes as they tend to become more rounded and less brawny.
Analyzing the symptoms, it becomes clear why male menopause is compared with that of women. Women may manifest some or all of the symptoms listed.
It is important to note, however, that the symptoms listed may be caused by other physical illnesses other than menopause. Thyroid gland dysfunction, depression, or anemia may be the underlying roots.
Some doctors, however, claim that male menopause is caused not by the hormonal changes but by psychological reasons. The realisation that they are ageing is underlined by the signs of physical changes such as the occurrence of wrinkles, fat and waning hairline.
Men in their middle age usually weaken their self-esteem as they begin to question themselves as to whether they still have a role in their homes and the society. An example is when their children mature and leave home. They start to feel empty and futile in the family. This empty nest syndrome has been found to affect both genders in the same way, although women's symptoms tend to be more noticeable on the outside.

Other possible psychological triggers of menopause in men include financial problems, job dissatisfaction, and marital conflicts.

 It is important to note, however, that the symptoms listed may be caused by other physical illnesses other than menopause. Again, thyroid gland dysfunction, depression, or anemia may be the underlying causes.
The diagnosis of male menopause or andropause is normally performed by running a physical examination, where the doctor will inquire about the symptoms the male is experiencing. The practitioner may conduct necessary diagnostic tests to discard other medical problems which may be affecting the condition. Series of blood tests will then be carried out to analyze the patient's hormone levels, as well as the blood testosterone status.
Testosterone replacement therapy is applied if the testosterone levels are found to be low. This process also helps to minimize the symptoms such as fatigue, depression, and low libido, or poor sex drive.
